Hugh Jackman going 'Nowhere' with Virgin for new comic book series
"X-Men" and "Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman and "Eli Stone" co-creator Marc Guggenheim are partnering with Virgin Comics to create "Nowhere Man" an original comic book series. The goal will be to eventually have Jackman star in the movie version of the comic when it is sent to the big screen. Exactly what the comic series will be about is still a closely guarded secret. So far I have learned that it is a futuristic story set in a world where people have traded their privacy for a world of safety. Funny, sounds reminiscent of Orwell's "1984" or just life after 9/11 here in the US. Should be very interesting to read how far they predict society will go in its quest for security. Perhaps this could be the basis of a 'return to the womb study' that needs to be started! Volunteers? Guggenheim is no newbie when it comes to the comic book world. He has written installments of "Amazing Spider-man" and "Wolverine" for Marvel Comics in addition to his recent work as co-creator on and writer on the TV series "Eli Stone." Jackman is currently in Australia, working on the 20th Century Fox movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," the spinoff movie that will hit theaters May 2009. Jackman next stars in the Marcel Langenegger-directed drama "Deception" which opens April 25, 2008.
